I had so much fun preparing for the holidays this year! One of things that I was most excited about was the hot chocolate bar that I had planned. For those of you who know me, I have a major sweet tooth. It took almost everything out of me to not eat it all before Christmas Eve! I found most of the stuff at World Market and HomeGoods – about 3 weeks before Christmas.
I absolutely LOVE wrapping presents. I enjoy taking my time and adding something special to each present. This year I decided to add an ornament to each gift. I found some really pretty ornaments at Kohls and they were 55% off! Target also had some really cute ornaments this year as well as Indigo (one of my favorite Canadian home décor stores). What is your favorite thing about wrapping presents?
I have been pretty bored the last couple of days; I haven’t really left the house. Still feeling a bit of discomfort after the procedure but nothing that I can’t handle. Since I have been so stir crazy, I decided to try some different looks on our dining room table using what I already had out from Thanksgiving.
This was our first Thanksgiving with a dining table and chairs! I have been so excited to decorate for Christmas that I didn’t really think too much about what I was going to do today. I had pinned a ton of things on Pinterest but really never went out and bought any of it. So today required some improvising. I bought the pumpkins four years ago for a Halloween party that we hosted – I had totally forgot that I had black ones and almost didn’t even use them until I looked back at my pins!
This past week I have been to Target at least three times in order to buy the perfect holiday decorations. I swear, Target has the best selection of cute but still chic Christmas decorations. I had the hardest time going to sleep Thursday night because I couldn’t stop thinking about decorating. I spent most of today finalizing what all I actually needed by putting together a few trial looks. Here is a sneak peak at our dining room.
Christmas is my favorite Holiday. I am so excited to start decorating and buying presents for our family and friends. Brent and I plan out a year in advance when it comes to Christmas. We set a budget and put that money aside gradually so that we don’t take such a huge hit in December. We are going to start on our lists this week!
I’ve already started purchasing Christmas decorations for our house (last year I didn’t decorate since we were in Canada for the holidays).
Earlier this week I mentioned that I was planning on working on a few projects this weekend. After a long hot Saturday, I finally finished what I had started a few weeks ago. I was thrilled when I visited Lowes to purchase more paint and discovered that they had a new line of Valspar spray paints with an abundance of pretty colors (apparently I go there often because the lady at the check out told me that it was nice that I was back so soon).
I could spend hours upon hours looking at home décor and design ideas. I think I have finally decided one what I am wanting for the living room – now I just have to save up for it all. I still haven’t been able to find the perfect couch as of yet. Restoration Hardware has one that I really love but it’s just so dang expensive. Here are some of my ideas below!
I have always loved decorating, rearranging and creating. I have been busy the last few weeks with family and friends so haven’t had much time to post. While my parents were in town, I found some chairs that I really LOVED – then I thought about it for a while and started to second guess myself (typical me). My vision was to take the black chairs and either paint them myself or hire a professional to paint them a creamy white –
I posted a while back about the two rugs that I ordered and I am so excited to say that they are finally here! I couldn’t be more pleased with how they both turned out.
The dining room rug is a flat weave and is fairly thin so we will definitely need to purchase a rug pad but other than that, having had zero reviews to look at for the rug, I am thrilled!
